Her professional journey reflects a balance of corporate and entrepreneurial experience, enriched by significant contributions to tax committees, publications, and technical forums. As an active member of professional bodies, she continues to play a pivotal role in shaping discussions on indirect tax laws and policies.
  • Specializes in Indirect Taxes including Foreign Trade Policies, Customs, GST and erstwhile indirect tax laws (Service Tax, Central Excise, Value Added Tax of various states, and Central Sales Tax);
  • She has over 12 years of experience under the various service heads including, litigation, consulting and advisory services.
  • Before joining Mistry and Shah, Amrin has worked with renowned CA firms including KPMG and Khandhar Mehta and Shah. Besides that, she has owned and managed her own practice as an entrepreneur for 6 years.
  • Contributed to various associations, tax committees, publications and chambers of commerce such as FICCI, CII, BCAS and other technical forums of Gujarat Commercial Tax and ICAI.
  • As an enthusiastic lawyer, she has also worked on many litigation cases in the areas of IDT including appearances before Indirect Tax Tribunals.

Sonal’s contributions extend beyond professional endeavors; she has authored numerous articles on critical aspects of GST and FTP and has delivered over 200 sessions on these topics at various prestigious forums including CPE Study Circles, ICAI Conferences, Banks, Government Organizations, Business Forums, Trade Associations, Overseas Forums, Colleges & Universities, National Conventions, Multinationals, and Centers for Entrepreneurship.

Her exceptional contributions to the field have garnered significant recognition, including being honoured with the esteemed “CA Woman of the Year Award 2023” by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, along with the “Young Achievers Award” in the CA Women Achiever Award 2018.

Furthermore, Sonal has played a pivotal role as the Chairperson of the Women Empowerment Committee at the Chartered Accountants Association in Ahmedabad, championing the cause of gender equality and empowerment within the profession.
